Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is COOL ROOM DIGITAL, operating the AFRIVITA brand. For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us at afrivita01@gmail.com. We reply to all requests within thirty (30) days. This policy reflects our obligations under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
2. Data we collect
- Identity and contact data: your name and email address, entered on the Selar or Gumroad checkout page when you place an Order, and shared with us by that platform to deliver your books and support you.
- Transaction data: order reference, bundle purchased, currency and date of purchase, kept for delivery, support and accounting.
- Communication data: the content of emails or WhatsApp messages you send us, kept for customer support.
- Technical data: when you visit this Website, your IP address is sent to a geolocation service (ipapi.co) only to detect your country and show prices in your currency. Your currency choice is saved in your browser (local storage) so you do not have to pick it again. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
3. Why we use your data
- To deliver your Digital Products and handle your Order (performance of contract).
- To answer your questions and resolve disputes (contract and legitimate interest).
- To show prices in your currency (legitimate interest).
- To prevent fraud and protect the Website (legitimate interest and legal obligation).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
4. Payment data
We never collect, see or store your card number, CVV, bank credentials or mobile money PIN. Payments are handled entirely by Selar, Gumroad and their payment partners. Please see their own privacy policies for how they process your data.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where EU or UK data is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent UK agreements, or on an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep your data
Order and transaction records are kept for seven (7) years for accounting and tax purposes. Support conversations are kept for up to three (3) years after our last exchange. After these periods, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted when it is no longer needed;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, write to afrivita01@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on your request.
8. Customer names shown on the site
The Website shows short notifications with the names and countries of AFRIVITA customers and the book they purchased. If your name appears and you would like it removed, write to afrivita01@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.
9. Security
We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections, restricted access and the use of reputable, security-certified providers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law or in our practices. The current version is always available on this page.
